Supporting international scholars

Over 50% of the current U.S. research enterprise is composed of international scholars who face unique and significant challenges throughout their training and early career stages. To raise awareness of the challenges faced by foreign-born researchers currently employed in US academic institutions and advocate for their needs by collecting data, disseminating findings to broad audiences, and taking action towards improving international scholars’ training experiences

Current Project: Tracking Immigration EO’s and COVID Impact

To assess the impact of the COVID19 pandemic and related immigration executive orders (EOs) by the federal government, Future of Research launched a survey in early 2021. Responses collected from this survey helped us understand the clear impact of recent, ongoing events on the international scholar community. We also kept track of all the EOs impacting international scholar immigration.
